Actually the recommended install is bit straight from Microsoft. You'd need to check under account to see what your installation is, but by default Office installs bit, so unless you went out of your way to install the bit version, i doubt you are running it. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. The utility and application that uses the database is 64 bit so I get an error when I load with 32 bit driver.

Can you tell me where to get the 64 bit version? Driver to connect to what exactly? Different DBs require different drivers, so to which DB do you need to connect to exactly? The vendor of the application you are trying to connect to should be able to provide you with the proper drivers.

Also, on a 64 bit machine there are 2 version of the odbcad I for 32 bit and 1 for 64 bit. Are you sure you've been using the right one? On my system, one is located in is used to create and maintain data source names for bit applications. The whole thing is completely counter intuitive as the bit version is in the 32 folder and the bit version is in the 64 folder?! Don't ask! PC is 64 bit so I assume Access is as well. Can you tell me where to download and how to install please? This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question Report abuse. Details required :. Cancel Submit.

Daniel Pineault MVP. ODBC drivers for what exactly? What are you trying to do? Thanks for your feedback. How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. In reply to Daniel Pineault's post on March 5, Thank you for responding Daniel. I am using a utility that copies database files to and from a proprietary file that allows easy transportation between systems.

The installed version of Access is 32 bit and the pc is 64 bit. When I run the odbcad I am able to use the utility load the text file to SQL Server database and I will use that as a work around.

I have a couple more tests to try and I will keep you posted if I cannot get it to work. Thanks again. In reply to KurtLangenmayr's post on March 6, In reply to Daniel Pineault's post on March 6, I understand that SysWOW64 allows me to run 32 bit apps on a 64 bit system and I have used both the 32 and 64 bit versions to create the datasource. Both give me the error I posted. This site in other languages x.
